CG Public House and Catering

My fiancée and i went to the CG Public house for a Valentines Day dinner. She had the salmon and i had the filet with crab and Hollandaise sauce. Both were excellent. Service was good and the staff went out of their way tovhelpvus get good puctures of us for the occasion.
I do think that their pricing is a little high.
We will go back again.

First of all the service was great. Our food came out and all four of us were very disappointed. I hade the steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus. My Steak had no seasoning on it, small portion of mashed potatoes that tasted old and only 4 small pieces of asparagus. My nieces burger was just okay, she said. my mom and daughter had the fettuccine and it was cold and tasteles. My bill was 180.00 for food that was worth 10.00. I feel I was ripped off. this food should be illegal to serve. I wouldn't recommend this place to nobody.

Debbie is the best server around Tri cities! 10/10 recommend getting her as your server. The food is always hot and always quick to come out on time. Place is always clean and very pleasant to eat at.

First timer here. Didn't see a worker until a couple minutes standing at the hostess stand, then got seated. Coffee was better than most breakfast places. I got the biscuit stacker. Great biscuit, soft, buttery, flaky. Crispy hash browns was the next layer, then sausage patty. One of the eggs was cooked to how I asked and the other was over cooked. Huge portion of gravy that wasn't great, but also wasn't bad. The massive problem I had was my whole meal was lukewarm. The other person I was with said all their food was cold even the scrambled eggs. I don't understand because the food came out rather quickly so I figured like a normal restaurant it was going to be hot. Completely ruined the meal for me. Flavors were there but I can't be happy with cold breakfast food. Giant place, probably fun to watch sports in their bar area.

Let's start with the best part. The service, fast friendly and a pleasant experience all around. The ambiance is nice, enjoyable music in the back ground. I've been here a few times but the lack of seasoning in several of the food items is surprising to say the least. Fettuccine Alfredo, bland (more rue than cheese I suspect), tater tots, the only flavor? (fry oil). Fiesta Salad, short on ingredients and no seasoning again. Chicken tenders (flavorless breading). Some of these things could be solved with some salt at the very least. Again the service and facilities are great, the recipe book needs some attention.

Always great consistent food. The menu is perfect for me or the kids. Plenty of options on the menu without over complication. Drinks for the adults are always made the way we like too. The service is swift and pleasant time after time, we know our servers names because they stay with CG. We also like to be able to watch the games there too without the tv blasting over us talking. If there was ever a concern or question about how something was served it was taken care of immediately, which rarely happens, just an opinion of what I asked for vs what is typical. CG is one of my top places to eat!

We used CG Catering for a small event at Gesa Carousel of Dreams. Fran was super friendly and helpful in helping us decide what items might work well for our event, as well as amount of food to order.

Communication and ordering went great.

On the day of the event, one of their staff rolled in their supplies and food. Afterwards, we packed the leftover veggies and fruit into gallon ziptop bags that we brought, and left everything there for the same staff member to collect.

Will use again in the future.

Best patty melt I've ever had!! Check it out, amazing place. Service and atmosphere is great. Fries are amazing!

Actually one of the worst experiences thus far with any catering or restaurant.

We ordered Mother's Day brunch for a scheduled delivery at 1130am. We waited and waited for our delivery and decided to call around noon because we had heard nothing by this time. We called and called until finally someone answered and they didn't have any updates on our order. We asked if they forgot about our order and the person on the phone said "we can't answer that". So I am going to guess they did forget about our order.

Once we realized we had been forgotten, they said they would have our food out ASAP and it was on its way. 1215 at this point. We finally received our food at 1pm and everything was frozen. I didn't realize the food was going to be frozen. I would have not ordered catering if this was the case. Why would I order catered food that's not hot and ready to eat???

So at this point it's past 1pm and we are left with rock solid frozen food to cook for another hour??? The best part is that the person who delivered it said it was supposed to come frozen.

Luckily the frozen food came with "reheating instructions" not cooking instructions which gives me the clue that our meal was supposed to be delivered hot and ready to eat. Such a disaster. Oh and the cherry on top was that by the time we were able to eat our frozen food, it was awful. The frittata was flavorless, and the Mac and cheese tasted like cafeteria Mac and cheese made with rubbery fake cheese.

Thank you for ruining Mother's Day brunch. Oh wait Mother's Day dinner since the frozen food took about 2+ hours to cook in an oven. Actually, I'm lucky my oven was working. Imagine ordering catered food because your appliances are not working and you get frozen food delivered!

In summary, I could have forgiven the lateness if the food would have been hot and ready to eat. It's Mother's Day, I'm sure they are busy but wow delivering frozen food is asking for a 1 star review. Overall, go somewhere else!

The only reason I left a one star for this was that the parking was easy as there was no cars in the lot!! There is a reason for this!! We were referred to Country Gentleman Restaurant ( NOW CG Public House) and apparently there is no resemblance to the prior establishment
We arrived last Saturday and sat in a booth along the windows which were a main attraction for the FLIES that swarmed us the entire time we were there.
I paid $34 for a 16 OZ. Prime Rib ( supposedly a special) Vegetables were not cooked at all and my prime Rib I received was at least 10 OZ of FAT. ( see picture) I told our overly perfumed waitress of this and also the OVER LOADED and over cooked Baked Potato. and she went and got the "manager" who said " that's the way Prime Rib comes out". and she went and got me a well done piece the size of a silver dollar!! hoping this would satisfy ! thanks but NOT the ladies salads were ok but my friends plate was very similar to mine CG is NOT Country Gentleman! so be aware!
